‘I want to live my dream’ – Dainius Zubrus | NHL.com

“It’s just a dream that I’ve always had,” Dainias Zubrus said of his dream of playing in the NHL.

“But I’m not even at that level.

I’ve had a lot of people say that, ‘You know, I think you’re the best player in the world.’

I know what it’s all about. “

I know a lot about the game.

I know what it’s all about.

I understand the game as well as anybody.

I can just see myself in a position where I can contribute to the team, to the city of Detroit and to the hockey team.”

Zubrus has spent the past week and a half at home in his hometown of Detroit as he recovers from a torn meniscus in his right knee.

It has kept him from practicing with the team and limited him to just two preseason games, when he was limited to one.

Zubrus played just five minutes of ice time Monday against Ottawa.

“Right now, I’m just doing my rehab,” he said.

“My body’s healing.

Zubras first goal for the Red Wings came in a 5-2 win at the Pittsburgh Penguins on Oct. 5. “

It feels great to be out there with the guys, and I just want to continue to grow and develop.”
