New York (AP) The New York Jets have named Deion Simmons the starting quarterback for Sunday’s game against the Indianapolis Colts.
Coach Todd Bowles said Sunday that the team will go with Simmons for the second straight game.
The decision was made in consultation with general manager John Idzik and coach Todd Bowler.
The Giants have lost eight straight games and Simmons has never thrown an interception in a regular-season game.
New York coach Todd Arifin and general manager Brandon Beane announced the decision Sunday.
Simmons was the No. 2 pick in the 2017 draft and is coming off a career-high season.
